Brigadier General P.S.C Malek Chamas assigned as general director of administration in the ministry of National Defense and member of the military council and promoted to Major General

As per decree 3254 issued on 11/06/2018, Brigadier General P.S.C Malek Chamas was assigned general director of administration in the ministry of Nation Defense and as per decree number 3253 on 11/06/2018, was promoted to Major General.

In the following is a summary of his life:

  • Born on Kneyse – Baalbek on 03/02/1964
  • Enlisted in the army as cadet officer on 19/05/1983
  • Graduated from the Military Academy as a Lieutenant on 6/5/1985 and gradually rose through the ranks and became Major General ‎P.S.C starting 01/03/2018.‎
  • Holder of a Masters degree in Business Management and strategic studies and fluent in English.‎
  • Followed several training sessions in Lebanon as well as in Jordan and a defense resources management course in the USA.‎
  • Assumed different functions mainly: Company Commander in the 2nd intervention regiment, Company Commander in the 3rd intervention regiment, head of two branches and Battalion Commander in the Republican Guard Brigade, head of the counter-terrorism and spying branch in the intelligence directorate, assistant commander of the South Litani Sector, assistant director of intelligence and coordinator of the Lebanese government for the UNIFIL.‎
  • Received the following medals and honors:‎ War (twice), Medal of National Unity, Medal of the South Dawn, Military Valor medal in Silver Degree, Lebanese Order of Merit of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees, Commemorative Medal of Conferences - 2002‎, National Order of the Cedar in Knight Grade and in Grade of Officer, Military Pride medal in Silver Degree, Counter Terrorism Medal.
  • Citation and Felicitation ‎ of the LAF Commander several times.
  • Married to Mrs. Nada Zaiter and father of four Children.
