Ceremony in honor of the Korean Battalion following the renovation of a number of buildings

The Barrack of Benoit Barakat – Tyre hosted this morning a ceremony that followed the renovation effort of a number of buildings with funds provided by the Korean Battalion operating under the UNIFIL Command. Brigadier General P.S.C Robert el-Alam Commander of the South Litani Sector attended the event and represented Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun in addition to the commander of the Korean Battalion Colonel Chul Ho Jin as well as Lebanese Army and UNIFIL officers. Brigadier General P.S.C el-Alam delivered a speech on the occasion in which he praised the logistic support provided by the Korean Battalion to the Lebanese Army and to all social and development activities that benefit the southern citizens. Colonel Jin also delivered a speech on the occasion where he applauded the ongoing cooperation between both sides and expressed the Korean Battalion’s readiness to provide additional support to the Lebanese Army. Brigadier General P.S.C el-Alam read an appreciation letter addressed from General Aoun to Colonel Jin and presented him the Army’s commemorative shield as a token of appreciation and gratitude.
