The Chief of Staff visited the Eighth Brigade Headquarters and Beit Eddine Post

The Lebanese Army Chief of Staff Major General P.S.C Hatem Mallak visited the headquarters of the Eighth Brigade in Saadiyet and the units deployed in the region of Nehme where he inspected the posts and checked the security measures aimed at reassuring the citizens and keeping stability. Chief Of Staff Mallak assisted to a combat drill performed by an Eighth Brigade unit and simulated an attack launched against a terrorist group entrenched inside apartment buildings. Chief of Staff Mallak also visited the Military post of Beit Eddine and checked the different missions and activities.

Chief of Staff Mallak praised during his meeting with the officers, soldiers their sacrifices and efforts, and stressed the importance of intensifying training and a high level of readiness to counter all dangers and challenges. He noted, “Our most powerful weapon in the confrontation with the Israeli enemy is nothing but the national consensus over Lebanon’s sacred right in its sovereignty, land and oil resources. He added that the Army will take full responsibility and shall not squander this right by confronting any Israeli aggression against Lebanese territories and regional waters by resorting to every means possible and whatever the sacrifices may be.

On the other hand, Chief of Staff Mallak confirmed that the security situation in the country is stable especially in view of the fact that the Army has closed all illegal crossing points at the eastern border and has invested preemptive efforts to eradicate terrorist cells with a high level of professionalism and in a continuous pattern of development.
