Clarification concerning a video that was published on Social Media websites

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Some Social Media websites have been publishing a video showing a soldier using violence against individuals during their arrest for unlawful roaming and different other violations.

The Army Command clarifies that the mentioned incident dates back to July of 2017 and that the command had taken at that time disciplinary measures against the mentioned soldier who had acted individually with no direction from his direct commanding officer. This command warns social media users from falling for misleading attempts and exchanging information or scenes regarding the army in a false and biased manner.

Furthermore, the army command clarifies to the public opinion that all arrested individuals are treated according to implemented rules and regulations, particularly international agreements that protect Human Rights.
