The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Social media platforms have been reporting misinformation about imposing prior authorizations on the work of media professionals.
The Army Command would like to clarify that the current procedure related to authorizations is not new and comes as part of the existing measures adopted according to the laws and aim to ensure the safety of the media professionals.
It is worth noting that the measures impose on all media outlets to ask for quarterly authorizations that can be renewed as desired by the media outlet.
As for the exceptional authorizations, the command notes that they are not permanent and they are issued on demand. These authorizations are related to the regions subject to exceptional security measures.
The Army Command confirms its keen interest to preserve media freedom and confirms its appreciation to the role of all media outlets which are abiding by security actions aimed at ensuring the safety of media professionals as well as their patriotic role and their noble mission.
The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation calls upon media outlets wishing to receive an authorization to visit the Army website to access information on the required documents.
