Funeral of the martyr private Hamza el-Masri

The Army Command and the citizens of Hawrtaala organized the funeral of the martyr Private Hamza el-Masri where crowds of troops and citizens attended. El-Masri had martyred yesterday in Tal Abiad – Baalbek after being shot by militants. Following the honoring ceremony, the martyr’s body was decorated with the Medal of War and the Medal of the Wounded in Bronze and the ritual prayers were performed in his town Hawrtaala. Brigadier General P.S.C Abdullah Makhoul represented both Minister of Defense Yaacoub Riyad el-Sarraf and Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun during the event. Brigadier General P.S.C Abdullah Makhoul delivered a speech on the occasion in which he praised the martyr’s professionalism and sacrifices. “The murderers thought with such treacherous acts that targeted our pious martyr they can terrorize the Army and its troops to persist in their organized crimes that include kidnapping, theft and trafficking illegal substances. However, they were mistaken for the Army will never show any leniency in dealing with backstabbing and disturbing peace and the perpetrators will soon be punished. It is most unfortunate that we lose fallen soldiers and endure casualties as a result of acts performed by a number of Lebanese outlaws while we always consider that our troops should fall in the confrontation with the military enemy and terrorism” Brigadier General P.S.C Abdullah Makhoul added.
