The graduation ceremony and distribution of diplomas to professors who have attended the “activist in mine danger awareness” course in Saad el Khatib Barrack – Hammana

The graduation ceremony and distribution of diplomas to professors (health counselors) in public schools and guidance and orientation centers affiliated with the ministry of Higher Education, who have attended the “activist in mine danger awareness” course was held in Saad el Khatib Barrack – Hammana. The ceremony was attended by Brigadier General P.S.C Ziad Nasr, head of LMAC, representing the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun, along with organizations working in humanitarian mine action and several officers.

Ms. Sonia Najm, representative of the ministry of Higher education delivered a speech on the occasion in which she expressed his appreciation to the Army Command for its cooperation with the ministry and stressed the importance of spreading awareness between public school students in decreasing the number of victims of mines and cluster bombs.

Moreover, Brigadier General P.S.C Nasr delivered a speech in which he said: “We celebrate today the graduation ceremony of the “activist in mine danger awareness” course. It is the first cooperation of this kind between the School of Regional Demining for Humanitarian Purposes and the Ministry of Higher Education, which will efficiently contribute to spreading mine and cluster bomb awareness in public schools and increasing the perception of the coming generations in general. It is a major step at the national level, which will undoubtedly help in delivering the messages of awareness in the best possible picture, through specialized activists and by relying on various audio-visual means.”

In the end, diplomas were distributed to the graduates.
