Handover of Certificates of Lands Cleared of Mines by MAG

The Lebanese Mine Action Center held a meeting today via video-teleconference, during which certificates of Lands Cleared of Mines and Cluster Bombs were handed over by MAG. The Japanese ambassador to Lebanon, Takeshi Okubo participated in the meeting, and spoke on behalf of his country emphasizing the need to continue to work with Lebanon to clean up the remaining lands. He also xpressed the pride of Japanese Government for providing support to Lebanon by removing mines and unexploded ordnance and allowing people to use their lands, Noting that the support allocated for this work had surpassed 8 million dollars.
