An honoring ceremony on the occasion of a donation offered by the Korean battalion in the UNIFIL and Spirit of America organization to the LAF was held today in the CIMIC directorate in Chikri Ghanem Barrack – Fiyadie. The ceremony was attended by the chargé d’affaires of the CIMIC directorate Brigadier General P.S.C Elie Abi Rashed representing the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun and the US and Korean military attachés in addition to several officers.
Brigadier General Abi RAched delivered a speech in which he stated: ”It is a constructive initiative that offers a space for intellectuality, development and active planning within the directorate. It goes in parallel with the accelerated technological and scientific development in all the fields of life. It also carries the truthful will to cooperate with the LAF and to strengthen its ties with its partners in Korea and the US. This initiative has a positive impact on the military, social and development contexts that are included in the civil-military cooperation. Therefore, we extend our utmost appreciation and gratitude to the Korean battalion and to the Spirit of America organization for this kind gesture.”
In the end, Brigadier General Abi RAched recited appreciation letter on behald of the Armed Forces Commander and delivered them to the US defense attaché Colonel Michael Feely and Korean military attaché Lieutenant Colonel JinhyeokMoon and offered them the army commemorative shield in appreciation of their efforts to support the LAF. A reception was held for the occasion.
