The Army Headquarters – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On this date, in Rmeish – Bint Jbeil, while an intelligence directorate patrol was inspecting the territory between spots B36 and BP14, the patrol went under attack by an Israeli patrol that threw 6 smoke bomb, leading to the suffocation of 2 troops and a fire that spread to the occupied territories. A patrol for the LAF and the liaison bureau in the UNIFIL and Civil Defense immediately attended the scene and worked on extinguishing the fire from the Lebanese side.
