Laying the foundation stone of the Rangers Regiment barrack in Miziara and performing a combat drill in Karasia valley – outskirts of Donniyeh in the presence of the LAF Commander
In the presence of the LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun, the ceremony of laying the foundation stone and unveiling the curtain of a ceremonial plaue dedicated to the project of building the Commandos barrack in the region of el-Sawaki – Miziara. The ceremony was attended by the Consul of Lebanon to Sierra Leone Mr. Donald el-Abed who offered a monetary donation to build the project. The ceremony was also attended by a number of army officers and the zitizens of Miziara.
On the other hand, LAF Commander assisted a live fire combat drill performed by troops of the 1st Intervention Regiment in the valley of Karasia – outskirts of Donnieh that simulated the eradication of a terrorist group that occupied the mentioned valley in addition to evacuating wounded individuals from the battlefield. The drill was also performed with the participation of the Air Force and the mountain rescue unit of the Lebanese Red Cross. The drill was attended by officers of the army and security agencies, the regional head of the Lebanese Red Cross in the north Mr. Roger Bafitos in addition to civilian guests. LAF Commander praised the preparedness of the troops and their professionalism as well as the exceptional combat performance. He admired their insistence to conduct the missions in extreme conditions and in rugged terrains. In the end, LAF Commander expressed his appreciation to the Lebanese Red Cross for their participation in the drill and his appreciation to Consul Donald el-Abed for the monetary donation and extended his gratitude to Mr. Patrick Khoury for offering different equipment to the 1st Intervention Regiment.
