Missions conducted by the Advanced Emergency Room on 13/8/2020

  • A delegation of the French AAIP Association consisting of 4 doctors arrived at the Advanced Emergency Room. The doctors visited the region of Achrafieh escorted by a member of Beirut Municipality Police guard. The doctors offered medical care to the injured citizens in the said area.
  • Meeting with retired Brigadier General Abdallah Hourani addressing the restoration project of damaged houses.
  • Meeting with a French delegation from Marseille Fire Brigade addressing the topic of offering aid to the Lebanese Fire Brigade. The aid package includes a fire truck, 2 ambulances, 2 Jeeps and an equipment vehicle.
  • Meeting with a delegation from the local company MAN discussing the topic of offering a piece of land in the region of Mar Mikhael – Mdawar to set up offices for engineers and advisors as well as providing support to the restoration project of historic buildings.
  • Meeting with representatives of the local business Lebanon Need addressing the topic of offering construction material as part of the restoration project of damaged houses.
  • Meeting with representatives of “Ibn el-Insan” Association addressing the topic of offering hot meals for the period of one month, wooden entrance doors, free transportation bus inside Beirut, 4 100KVA power generators, drinking water cisterns, using the mobile field hospital and the possibility of conducting a survey.
  • Meeting with representatives of Ora Union Organization addressing the topic of providing social and humanitarian assistance.
  • Meeting at 14:00 with a number of engineering offices, Dar AlHandasa, the Order of Engineers and Architects, delegates from the Municipality of Beirut, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), UN-Habitat Organization at the Advanced Emergency Room with the staff officers of the Emergency Room. Participants in the meeting agreed on joining the efforts to complete the engineering survey of the damaged area and setting up benchmarks to provide the Operations Room with all the needed data.

    Participants also agreed on meeting again on 14 / 8 / 2020 at 10:00 in the first floor of Order of Engineers and Architects Headquarters at 10:00 to provide the Advanced Operations Room with the data collected after surveying the devastated area.
