Opening ceremony of a solar power lighting project funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands

The Street named after martyr Lieutenant Colonel Mounir el-Ghomrawi in Beddawi – Tripoli hosted the opening ceremony of a solar power lighting project funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the frame of the Civil – Military Cooperation Program.

The ceremony was attended by the Director in Charge of the Civil – Military Cooperation Directorate Brigadier General Elie Abi Rached who represented the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun and the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Lebanon Mr. Jan Waltmans in addition to a number of social, religious and official figures. Brigadier General Abi Rached delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests and expressed the Army’s appreciation to the authorities of the Netherlands for the repeated initiatives made by the Netherlands’ authorities toward the CIMIC Program. He confirmed the Military Institution’s interest in the development situation in the north and its loyalty to the citizens who gave the Army the elite of its sons. Ambassador Waltmans also confirmed in a speech his country’s continuous support to Lebanon and its army and its active participation in the mentioned program.
