Saturday, 18 January 2020

The LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun opened the office for martyr family members and soldiers with special needs at the Military Medical Health Headquarters in Badaro in the presence of officers, family members of martyrs and individuals with special needs.

General Aoun unveiled the curtain hiding a commemorative plate and delivered a speech on the occasion where he said that the Command’s interest in Military Healthcare is equal to its interest in developing any other military unit in order to remain up to date with the latest technological advances and to provide the best medical care services to the troops, their family members and to the families of martyr troops. General Aoun commended the qualitative step that the Military healthcare has made thanks to those responsible for this service and confirmed that the development process is ongoing and has gained momentum and confidence thanks to its commitment to the standards of transparency and self-censorship away from suspicions and accountability. General hoped that the policy adopted in the Medical Healthcare becomes generalized with the aim of avoiding squandering and saving financial resources as well as limiting the medical cost.  “Whatever any one may say, I am confident that the Military Healthcare will be investing its resources in the right places and the opening of new sections as well as development and renovation of older sections is a clear proof that the administration is doing all that is possible to provide the befitting services and since our resources are limited we are also relying on the assistance and donations offered by our compatriots” General Aoun added. General Aoun stressed that Healthcare is not excluded to providing medical care since it consists of a whole care process and good treatment. As we open today a new office dedicated to tend the needs of martyr family members and troops with special needs we fully realize that we are indebted to the martyrs and our institution is loyal to the promises it gives to its troops and remains vigilant to take care of their family members. Every martyr’s memory remains engraved in the institution’s golden register and his blood forever lights the way of comrades in arm. We will also be keen to provide care for the troops with special needs who gave their lives to this country in order to preserve its dignity and the dignity of its people. We have vowed before them and before their martyr comrades that we shall stay by their side and by the side of their families noting that what their sacrifice is priceless. “In light of the critical economic situation that we are going through and considering its heavy toll on every one of us, this project in which we are inaugurating several sections within the medical hospital confirms that the military institution is proceeding with the development process that it is pursuing, regardless of the critique every now and then. Any criticism of any sort will not be affecting the military institution which will keep on protecting Lebanon and the Lebanese people” General Aoun added.

He concluded his visit by saying that “we greatly appreciate the efforts that our troops are exerting wherever they may be while conducting their missions despite of the huge pressures they are encountering, and particularly the economic burdens. We will continue to defend our rights to the last breath and we will remain vigilant to counter the challenges in addition to being loyal to the vow of honor, loyalty and sacrifice.

The Military Healthcare commander Brigadier General P.S.C Georges Youssef delivered a speech in his turn where he spoke about completing the inauguration of several projects within the Military Healthcare during the past two years. He commended the support provided by the Command for this project considering its importance and relation with those endowed with sheer willpower among the family members of the martyrs and the troops with special needs.

General Aoun took a tour in the newly renovated laboratory which is now fitted out with state of the art equipment. He also checked on the ambulance cars that the hospital has purchased.
