A patrol and 2 posts belonging to the LAF targeted with fire by armed individuals

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 13/12/2018, around 21.40, while a patrol belonging to the LAF was passing by Hay el Chrawneh – Baalbek, it came under heavy fire by armed individuals which came in parallel with an LAF post being targeted with similar fire in Chrawneh and Matraba in Hermel. The LAF returned fire and the clash resulted in the injury of 4 soldiers, one of them being gravely injured.

The LAF units were fortified in the region in order to pursue the situation.

The shooters are being pursued in order to be arrested and turned in to the relevant authorities.
