Tripartite meeting in Ras el Naqoura

The Army Headquarters - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:  
On 20/04/2017 at 9.30, a tripartite meeting was held in Ras el Naqoura, presided by the UNIFIL Commander General Michael Beary and with the presence of a delegation from LAF Officers headed by the coordinator of the Lebanese Government Brigadier General Mohammad Janbay. Discussions focused on the implementation of resolution 1701 as well as the recent events in the South of Litani.
The Lebanese delegation focused on the Israeli trespasses in air, on land and at sea and demanded their immediate cessation. The delegation also demanded the withdrawal of the Israeli enemy from the North of Ghajar then focused on the issue of the Israeli helicopter that trespassed into the blue line above Bastara farm as well as the issue of the Israeli spying device that was placed facing Mays el Jabal and confirmed that this device is a part of the Israeli spying system deployed all along the blue line. Moreover, the Lebanese side stressed the commitment of the Lebanese government to the resolution 1701 and demanded its implementation and has already informed the United Nations of the issues that hold back its implementation: Chebaa farms, Ghajar, reservation zones, Israeli spying devices and the naval issue. The Lebanese side also clarified that it is the United Nations’ responsibility to tackle these issues in order to achieve a permanent state of ceasefire.  
The UNIFIL Commander Major General Beary stressed the importance of the commitment to the measures of coordination and liaison and confirmed that preserving stability is a bilateral responsibility and that the UNIFIL are ready to assist in this affair.
