Two individuals arrested in Niha - Bekaa

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 13/11/2021, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested the citizen (H.Y.) and the Syrian (H.H.) following an ambush in Niha - Bekaa. The former leads one a gang of robbery by force of arms and kidnapping in Bekaa. On 8/7/2021, he suffocated to death, along with two others, a retired Chief warrant officer of the Internal Security Forces in Hasbaya. He also fired on an earlier date at a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, wounding one of the soldiers.

The Intelligence Directorate had earlier arrested a number of gang members led by citizen (H.Y.) for their involvement in various criminal acts.

The investigation began with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
