Unveiling ceremony of a memorial in Chadra barrack – North

The unveiling ceremony of a memorial for martyr captain Simon Chahine was held this morning in Chadra barrack – Headquarters of the 1st border regiment – North region. The ceremony was attended by the commander of the North region, pilot Brigadier General P.S.C Hicham Thebiane, representing the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun as well as several officers and the family of the martyr captain. Brigadier General P.S.C Thebiane delivered a speech on the occasion in which he said “ our meeting today holds a major importance while we inaugurate the headquarters of the ‎1st border regiment ‎in the frame of the continuous development achieved by the LAF in different units. we remember our immortal heroes Martyr Captain Simon Chahine that the building was named after so that he remains alive in our souls and in the memory of our troops, the protectors of the borders. We are confident that the officers and troops in border regiments are more than responsible in defending these borders and countering any terrorist scheme or infiltration operation
