A wanted individual killed on a checkpoint after pursuit

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On this day, while an intelligence patrol was chasing a stolen car driven by the wanted Rabih el Chami and upon his arrival at the checkpoint in Beit Ayoub district - Akkar, the checkpoint personnel tried to arrest him but he didn’t comply and tried to escape after colliding with the checkpoint, wounding  2 soldiers. This forced the personnel to shoot in the air then towards the car resulting in killing him.
