A workshop on international standards that govern police work and management of crowd control operations
At the 11th Infantry Brigade, a workshop was held on “international standards that govern police work and management of crowd control operations”, organized and supervised by experts from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), with the participation of a number of army officers.
This workshop aims to explain the overlap between international humanitarian law and international human rights law with a focus on the principles governing the use of force and firearms.

[10/24, 6:44 AM] Hussein Ghaddar: Mechanism of distributing the 100 billion LBP for the people whose houses were affected by the blast in the Port of Beirut
The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
LAF is distributing 100 billion LBP for the people whose houses were affected by the blast in the Port of Beirut, according to the following mechanism:
• The process is based on the classification of damaged houses that was completed during the damage survey phase.
• The distribution mechanism includes houses belonging to the normal and intermediate categories, and those closest to the blast site, to enable those affected to complete urgent repairs (windows, entrance doors, ...) before winter.
• Owners of 10274 houses out of 62087, i.e 16.5% of the total damaged houses that were surveyed, will benefit. (According to the attached compensation calculation table)
• The Army Command is responsible for informing citizens, via phone calls, of the dates on which they can receive their aid, provided that each beneficiary signs a pledge to use the compensation in the process of repairing his house.
• Each beneficiary must present a copy of the identity card or any official identification document (personal transcript, passport, ...) during the process of receiving the money.
• The distribution process will start on Monday 26/10/2020, whereas the distribution area will be announced a day earlier by LAF on the official website, isocial media, LAF News app, and through the media.
