On 15/4/1998 the Lebanese Mine Action Center was established according to resolution 29 issued by the Lebanese Cabinet. The Center was charged with the mission of conducting and coordinating the Lebanese Mine Action Program and it was directly linked to the Army Headquarters – Army Staff for operations and it was provided with all the necessary means to perform its duties.
