Order of the Day On the occasion of the Resistance and Liberation Day
On the occasion of the Resistance and Liberation Day, the LAF Commander addressed the following Order of the Day to the troops
Fellow troops
On the occasion of the 16th Resistance and Liberation Day, we remember with admiration and respect the country’s martyrs and wounded, those heroes who led the way with their pious blood toward achieving victory over the Israeli enemy and consolidating the security of the border of dignity and national sovereignty where you are stationed to defend the land by clinging to every last grain of sand in the confrontation with this enemy.
The celebration of this Anniversary coincides this year with the ongoing presidential vacuum for the second year and thus with the absence of the country’s President who embodies the symbol of the country’s unity and the one person who watches over the country’s independence and territorial integrity.
Fellow troops
You have proven during the past stages your competence in defending the country and safeguarding its unity, security and stability despite the continuous devastating wars which are ravaging the neighboring countries, in addition to the numerous internal challenges and you have preserved stability at the southern border. Furthermore, you have been keen to implement resolution 1701 and its terms in coordination with the International Force just as you relentlessly kept on fighting terrorism inside the country and at eastern border and by doing so you have crowned your efforts and bravery in the field through the preemptive and quantitative operations that you have launched deep inside the terrorist groups’ territories. These operations have led to tightening the grip over these terrorist groups and thus their criminal schemes aimed at damaging the immunity of our internal scene were all thwarted. Moreover, thanks to the efforts that you have exerted, you have managed to ensure the security of the municipal elections.
Fellow troops
You have established once again the basics of democracy and you have transformed your institution into an organization that gained the trust of all the Lebanese people and the commendations of the International Community and that is why I wish to ask you to be up to this trust. Your concern should be to preserve Lebanon in the face of dangers and protecting democracy and the formula of coexistence.
At the Anniversary of the Resistance and Liberation Day, I would like to renew on your behalf the Army’s commitment to exert every effort in order to unveil the fate of your comrades who are kidnapped by the terrorist groups and to liberate them following the example of their liberated comrades.
I would like to extend my deepest and sincere feelings toward the family members of the kidnapped troops who have shared with them the bitterness of suffering, patience and hardship. I would also like to greet the families of the Army martyrs who gave their lives so that the country might prevail and I would like to reiterate that we vow before them and before all the Lebanese people that the Army shall remain a beacon of honor, sacrifice and loyalty.
