The graduation ceremony of a Staff session in the Fouad Chehab Academy

Fouad Chehab Academy for Command and Staff in Rihaniye hosted this morning the graduation of the thirtieth Staff session which included Army officers and officers from the different security agencies in addition to officers from the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Jordanian Hashemite Kingdom, the Republic of Sudan, the Republic of France and the Republic of Brazil.

The ceremony was presided by the Army Chief of Staff Major General P.S.C Walid Salman who represented the LAF Commander General Jean Kahwagi in the presence of ambassadors, defense attachés, representatives of security agencies, national universities, public administrations, the head of the Lebanese University former MP Adnan el-Sayed Hussein as well as senior Army officers and the family members of the graduates.
The ceremony was initiated with the Lebanese national anthem followed by reading of the graduation’s special memorandums and the exchange of commemorative shields between the first of the class and the Academy Commander Brigadier General Ali Makki. Following the speeches of both the first of the class and the representative of the foreign and Arab officers, Brigadier General Makki delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude to the Army Command for the assistance provided in terms of training. He noted that the Academy has become widely recognized as one of the most prestigious academies of its sort in the world and the Staff session in particular enables the commanding officer to confront challenges and hard stances as well as the modern time combat conditions which are extremely complicated.
Afterwards, the Army Chief of Staff delivered a speech in his turn where he congratulated the graduates and commended the efforts exerted by the officers and the university professors. “Today, from this Academy, the Academy of Fouad Chehab for Command and Staff, you will depart armed with the weapons of knowledge which will light your way thanks to the education that is associated with wisdom and experience as well as the education that seeks in its details and dimensions to reach the highest levels of comprehensiveness. These skills, in case they were to be applied in the best of ways, ensure that the commanding officer is able to take decisions and to supervise their execution no matter what the conditions may be with the aim of reaching success and victory in the battle.” Major General P.S.C Salman added.
He also confirmed that the continued regional crises boosts the Army’s commitment to its vows and promises to defend Lebanon and fortify its borders from the dangers lurking from every corner, whether in the form of the schemes plotted by the racist Israeli enemy and its avidities in our lands, water resources and riches ort in the form of terrorist plots. He reassured those present that the Army will surely thwart all the terrorist plans and achieve one victory after the other over the terrorist enemy, just as it did before, for the Army is strong thanks to tenacity, competence and his soldiers’ immeasurable preparedness to give sacrifices. The Army is additionally strong due to the Lebanese people’s support and its sacred right to defend every last inch of the Lebanese territories.
