من الأجداد إلى الأحفاد

حين تلوح بوادر الحلول في المنطقة المحيطة، وليس من الثابت ذلك، تزداد المهمّات الملقاة على عاتق المؤسسة العسكرية، وتتجدّد العزائم من جديد، فإن يكن سلام قد حلّ، لا بدّ من الحفاظ عليه وتدعيم ركائزه. وإن تكن إمكانية انتقال الأزمات إلينا بطريقة أو أخرى لا تزال قائمة، فلا بدّ من التنبّه والاحتراز وافتراض الخلل وطرح العلاج.

وحين يتلبّد فضاء الأزمات ويتواصل المخاض السياسي والأمني في تلك المنطقة، وهو ما لا نتمناه ولا نريده، فإنّ اليقظة والسهر وتشريع أبواب التضحيات تتضاعف بالتأكيد، وتصبح مطلوبة بشكل حتمي، وإلاّ ما الذي منع امتداد النيران إلينا حتى الآن، وقد بلغت ألسنتها الفضاء، وتشعّبت مصادرها، وانهالت الأيدي، المجهول منها والمعلوم، تصبّ الزيت في مواقدها.

في الحالين، اليد على الزناد، والصّحوة في العين، والإنصات في الأذن، هذه هي رسالة الجندية، إنطلاقًا من وقفة الحارس الخفير عند مدخل ثكنته، مرورًا بالمراقب الساهر عند نقطة التفتيش، وصولًا إلى المقاتل في الميدان والمقيم في أعلى القمم حيث البرد والثلوج. الجندي في ذلك كلّه، لا يتساءل عن موعد بروز الأخطار وتقدّم الأعداء، ولا يسأم الانتظار والترقّب، ولا يسمح بالملل والكسل وشرود الذهن أن تتسلّل إلى نفسه. إن الراحة هي راحة البلاد لا راحته، والسهر هو سهره لا سهرها، من هنا الثقة بالجيش التي عبّرت عنهاالدولة بمؤسساتها وأفرادها، بمقيميها ومغتربيها، خلال الاحتفالات بعيد الاستقلال، خصوصًا بعد تمكّنه من دحر الإرهاب في عملية "فجر الجرود" ما انعكس اسقرارًا لدى الجميع، واقتناعًا لدى اللبنانيين كافة بأهمية مواصلة مسيرة الشرف والتضحية والوفاء، هذه المسيرة التي حمل رايتها الأجداد في سبيل تحقيق الاستقلال، تسلّمها الجيش أمانةً مقدسةً في أعناق أجياله، يبذلون العرق والدم للحفاظ عليها في ساحات الشرف والواجب.

From ancestors to successors

Whenever solutions loom in the surrounding region, even if this fact is not completely proven, the burdens laid on the shoulders of the military institution increase and determinations are revamped, even though if peace has set in it is essential to preserve it and embolden its pillars. And even if it is possible that regional crises may still return to our land in one way or another, we should always remain vigilant and cautious by presuming flaws and proposing answers.

And when crises overcloud the skies of the region and the political and security turmoil continues, while we do not wish this reality nor do we desire it, vigilance and preparedness as well as offering sacrifices will surely double and turns into an absolute necessity. Had it not been for these measures nothing would have enabled us to avoid the spread of the regional fires into our land up until now, even when its flames reached the sky from different directions with perpetrators, being know or unknown trying to add oil to the fire.

In both cases, our hands will remain steady on the trigger, our ears paying attention to every detail. This is the message of the soldier, starting with the sentinel standing guard at the entrance of its barrack, the watchman at the checkpoint leading to the fighter in the field and at the mountain tops where snow and cold weather reigns.

Through all that, a soldier does not wonder about the time of dangers or the progress of enemies. He does not tire from waiting and expecting and does not allow boredom, laziness and absent mindedness to infiltrate into his soul. Comfort is that of the country and not his own and vigilance is his own and not that of the country. Hence, the trust in the army that was expressed by the state’s institutions and citizens with its residents and expatriates during the celebrations on the Independence Day, particularly after successfully chasing away terrorism in the “Dawn of the Outskirts” operation. This accomplishment has led to stability and belief within all the Lebanese as to the importance of the journey of Honor, Sacrifice and Loyalty. This journey, which banner was held high by our ancestors with the aim of achieving independence, has been bequeathed upon the army as a sacred valued possession to its generations who sacrifice their blood and sweat for the sake of preserving it in the fields of honor and duty.
