It is the symbol of power and protection. The name of the Directorate of Geographic Affairs in Arabic is placed on the lower extremity of the badge.
The green cedar represents unity of the land and the people; the sword symbolizes justice; the black color alludes to the secret movement to combat terrorism and spying.
