51 individuals rescued during attempted illegal migration on a boat off the coast of Tripoli

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On 17/12/2023, information was received regarding a boat sinking off the coast of Tripoli during an attempt to smuggle individuals illegally. A patrol from the Lebanese Naval Forces managed to rescue 51 individuals on board, including two Palestinians and 49 Syrians. The army, with the assistance of a Lebanese Red Cross team, provided aid and support to the rescued individuals.
