Arrest of two citizens and 53 Syrians within the framework of security measures in various regions

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
Within the framework of the security measures implemented by the military institution in various regions, Army units each supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence arrested 55 individuals as follows:
•    Raid of wanted individuals' residences in the Tabaq Al Ward - Arsal and arrest of the citizen (Kh.H.) for shooting and provoking clashes. They seized weapons and a quantity of ammunition in his possession.
•    The arrest of the citizen (B.S.) in Tripoli - North for being wanted for forming a gang of robbery and theft by force of arms and opening fire on previous dates.
•    The arrest of 53 Syrians in Chadra, Rouwayma, Deir Amar, and Al Uwaynat - North and Tyre - South for illegally entering Lebanese territory.
The seized items were handed over and the investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
