Arrest of Wanted Individuals and Seizure of a Large Quantity of Weapons, Ammunition, and Drugs

The LAF Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

As part of the security measures implemented by the LAF and in the framework of combating drug trafficking, an army unit, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, raided the residences of wanted individuals in the towns of Dar Al Wasiah and Al Yamouneh – Baalbek. The operation resulted in the arrest of the wanted citizen (Z.J.) and the Syrian national (H.A.).

During the raids, the unit came under fire and responded in kind without casualties. As a result of the operation, a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, drug-manufacturing equipment, and a significant amount of drugs were seized. The unit also destroyed 25 dunums of hashish fields and dismantled agricultural tents used for cultivation in the town of Dar Al Wasiah – Baalbek.

The confiscated items were handed over, and an investigation was launched with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judiciary. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.
