Lebanese Army Implements Security Measures in Bekaa and North to Combat Drug Trafficking and Apprehend Law Violators – 260 kg of “Silvia” Seized
The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
The Lebanese Army carried out a series of security measures in Bekaa and North to combat drug trafficking and arrested individuals disturbing public order. In this context, a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence raided the residence of a wanted individual in Sharawneh – Baalbek and seized approximately 260 kg of “Silvia”, packaged and prepared for sale.
Additionally, Lebanese Army units arrested four individuals and seized a pistol and a quantity of drugs, as follows:
• The arrest of citizens (J.K.) and (F.M.) at the Madfoun checkpoint after attempting to flee, with the first being wanted for possessing a firearm. A pistol and a quantity of drugs were found in their possession.
• Raids on the residences of wanted individuals in Majdal Anjar – Zahle, resulting in the arrest of citizen (H.A.), wanted for opening fire.
• The arrest of citizen (M.H.) in Rouayma – Akkar for smuggling activities.
The seized items were handed over, and the investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
