The Army continues its pursuit of wanted individuals and those threatening public security, arresting four citizens for committing various crimes, including firing on a checkpoint of one of the security agencies
The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
The Army continues its pursuit of wanted individuals and those disrupting public security across various Lebanese regions. In this context, an Intelligence Directorate patrol arrested the citizens (M.AA.), (Sh.AA.), and (R.S.) in Hay Al Sellom – Baabda for committing various crimes, including theft and robbery, drug use and trafficking, protecting drug dealers for financial gain, causing disturbances, and extortion. The latter had also refused to comply with the orders of a security agency checkpoint in the Choueifat Desert area on 2/4/2020 and fired shots at its personnel, though no injuries occurred.
During the arrest, (R.S.) attempted to flee from the patrol and fired at its members, who returned fire, injuring him. He was transferred to a hospital for treatment. Two pistols were seized from the detainees.
Additionally, another patrol arrested (A.AA.Z.), a leader of several gangs in Fanar – Metn for causing disturbances and shooting. He was wanted for various crimes, including drug use and trafficking, as well as shooting and injuring individuals.
The seized items were handed over, and investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
