The Army conducts a thorough inspection of a threatened building in Yanouh - Tyre in coordination with the Committee overseeing the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement, amid solidarity from local residents
The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On 13/12/2025, in coordination with the Mechanism and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the Army conducted a thorough inspection of a building in the town of Yanouh with the owner’s consent. The inspection confirmed that no weapons or ammunition were found inside the building.
After the Army left the area, and amid ongoing Israeli attacks, a threat was received to strike the same building. An Army patrol immediately arrived and carried out a second inspection, again finding no weapons or ammunition. The patrol remained deployed in the vicinity of the building to prevent it from being targeted.
The Army Command highly appreciates the residents’ trust in the military institution, as well as their support and cooperation during the performance of its national duty. It also extends its deep appreciation to the Committee overseeing the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement, which carried out the necessary contacts in coordination with the Army Command and played a pivotal role in halting the implementation of the threat.
The Command salutes the tremendous efforts and sacrifices made by military personnel operating under exceptionally challenging circumstances to ensure the safety and protection of their fellow citizens. These efforts have resulted in the suspension of the threat at the present time, while Army units remain deployed in the vicinity of the house.
This incident underscores more than ever that preserving stability depends on unified efforts and full national solidarity with the Army, coupled with strict adherence to Resolution 1701 and the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement, in coordination with the Mechanism and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). This challenging period calls for the highest levels of awareness and responsibility.
