Army Commander-in-Chief Participates in the 62nd Munich Security Conference 2026 Held in the Federal Republic of Germany

Army Commander-in-Chief General Rodolph Haykal attended the 62nd Munich Security Conference 2026, held in the Federal Republic of Germany from 13 to 15 February 2026. The conference brought together presidents, ministers, diplomats, heads of security agencies, and military leaders from around the world to discuss strategic issues concerning international peace, security and defense, conflict resolution, and the latest technologies with military and security applications.

During the conference, a meeting of the participating army commanders was held, during which international developments and matters related to military cooperation were presented and discussed.

General Haykal also held a series of bilateral meetings with a number of officials, diplomats, and army commanders: German Chief of Defense Staff Gen. Carsten Breuer, British Chief of Defense Staff Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, Italian Chief of Defense Staff Gen. Luciano Portolano, Chief of Defense of the Dutch Armed Forces Gen. Onno Eichelsheim, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, NATO Secretary-General’s Special Representative Javier Colomina, Senior Advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump for African and Middle Eastern Affairs Mr. Massad Boulos, and Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates.

During these meetings, the discussions focused on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region. General Haykal outlined ways to enhance cooperation, sustain support for the Lebanese Army, and strengthen their capabilities to face challenges during the current exceptional phase, given the sensitivity of Lebanon’s internal situation, as well as the ongoing Israeli violations and breaches of the ceasefire agreement.
