The Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief from Tripoli: Civil Peace Is the Strongest Weapon to Protect Lebanon
The Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal, inspected the Command of the Twelfth Infantry Brigade in Al Qobbeh – Tripoli, where he reviewed the missions carried out within the brigade’s sector. He met with officers and soldiers and offered his condolences for the martyrdom of one of their comrades on April 17, 2026, wishing a speedy recovery to those wounded after an army patrol came under fire while carrying out a security operation in the Al Tebbeneh area.
In his address to the troops, General Haykal expressed his appreciation for their efforts, driven by their belief in their mission and the unity of their country. He emphasized that civil peace is the strongest weapon to protect Lebanon from the threats it faces, noting that this is achieved through the army’s steadfastness and determination.
He said: “Anyone who attacks the military institution and questions its role—whether knowingly or unknowingly—serves the objectives of the Israeli occupation and fuels divisions that stir internal strife. This institution has offered its finest sons as martyrs and wounded in defense of Lebanon.”
The Army Commander-in-Chief affirmed that Lebanon will regain every inch of its land under Israeli occupation.
Addressing the soldiers, he added: “Hold fast to the values of honor, sacrifice, and loyalty. Make the protection of Lebanon your highest aim and primary objective, and place its interest above all else. This is your mission, which must remain firmly rooted in your conscience.”
He then inspected one of the brigade’s units in the Abu Ali roundabout area and stressed that citizens’ security depends on the performance of every member of the army across all units deployed throughout the country. He said: “I salute your high morale and constant readiness. Our faith will not waver. With our strength and steadfastness, we will lead our nation to salvation.”
