The Lebanese Army Arrests Two Citizens for Assaulting a Monastery in Al Qoubaiyat – Akkar

The Lebanese Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The Intelligence Directorate arrested the two citizens (Z.M.) and (N.Z.) following a security tracking and pursuit operation, for entering Mar Challita Monastery in Al Qoubaiyat – Akkar on May 2, 2026, vandalizing its contents, setting fire inside the monastery, and smashing religious symbols.

The investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
