Clarification Regarding the U.S. Treasury Statement Concerning a Lebanese Army Officer

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

In light of the statement issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury concerning the involvement of a Lebanese Army officer in leaking intelligence information during the current year, and noting that the Army Command was not notified through the approved channels of communication:

The Command affirms that all officers and personnel of the military institution carry out their national duties with the highest degree of professionalism, responsibility, and discipline, in accordance with the decisions and directives issued by the Army Command.

The Command also emphasizes that the loyalty of military personnel is solely to the military institution and the nation, and that they remain committed to carrying out their national duties free from any other considerations or pressures.
