Army Commander-in-Chief Visits Units Deployed in the South and Offers Condolences to the Families of Fallen Soldiers

Army Commander-in-Chief General Rodolph Haykal visits a number of units deployed in southern Lebanon, beginning his tour with a meeting with officers and soldiers at the headquarters of the Second Intervention Regiment in Zahrani. The visit, held on the occasion of Army Day, provided an opportunity to review the status of the units, their missions, and the challenges they face.
He then conducted a field visit to the town of Zawtar El Gharbiyeh, where he was received by the mayor. He met with residents, listened to their concerns, and was briefed on the difficulties hindering their return to the town and the resumption of their normal lives.
General Haykal also took part in a prayer service held in memory of the Army's fallen soldiers at the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Zawtar El Gharbiyeh, which had been targeted by Israeli occupation forces.
During the tour, General Haykal stressed that the Army would continue carrying out its missions to reinforce security and create the conditions necessary for the return of residents, in coordination with the other state institutions.
Addressing the troops, he said: "What we are doing is not merely a mission; it is a matter of the state's very existence, the security and stability of the nation, and reassuring our citizens."
He also offered his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, affirming that the military institution remains loyal to them and their families and deeply values their sacrifices in the service of the nation.
