The army arrests 20 individuals and seizes weapons and military ammunition

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Army units carried out security measures in various Lebanese regions, including raid, the deployment of mechanized patrols, and the establishment of temporary checkpoints. As a result, 20 individuals were arrested, as follows:

The Individual (B.H.) and 18 Syrians were arrested in Wadi Merhej – Ras Baalbek for illegally entering Lebanese territory.

Homes of wanted individuals were raided in Al Khoder – Baalbek due to their involvement in an incident involving gunfire on 2 August 2026. A quantity of weapons, military ammunition, and military equipment was seized.

Homes of wanted individuals were raided in Taalabaya – Zahle due to their involvement in an incident involving gunfire on 2 August 2026, which resulted in the death of a citizen. Weapons and military ammunition were seized.

The Syrian (M.J.) was arrested at Douris checkpoint – Baalbek for moving within Lebanese territory without legal documents. A quantity of narcotics was found in his possession.     

The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and investigations with the arrestees were initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
