Lebanese army commander-in-chief receives former U.S. ambassador Edward Gabriel, chairman of the American task force on Lebanon, and discusses with him the latest developments

The Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal, received in his office in Yarzeh the President of the American Task Force on Lebanon (ATFL), former U.S. Ambassador Edward Gabriel, accompanied by members of the organization’s Board of Directors. The meeting addressed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.

During the meeting, the two sides held an in-depth and frank discussion on the Army’s missions and the complexities it is facing at the current stage. Ambassador Gabriel commended the sacrifices made by military personnel, highlighting the importance of the Army’s role in maintaining security and stability in the country.

For his part, General Haykal affirmed that the Army would continue to carry out all missions related to the framework agreement within its available capabilities, while Israeli occupation forces continue their attacks and violations of the understandings established under the agreement.
