Visitors of the Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief
Army Commander-in-Chief General Rodolph Haykal received the Russian Military Attaché, Colonel Yuri Penkov, at his office in Yarzeh on a farewell visit marking the end of his assignment. During the meeting, he introduced his successor, Major General Pytor Krivoruchko.
General Haykal also received the Danish Military Attaché, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Eddelien, accompanied by Danish Chargé d’Affaires Jacob Faber and a delegation from the embassy. Discussions focused on cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
He also received the Mufti of Tyre and Jabal Amel, Judge Sheikh Hassan Abdallah, who stressed the importance of rallying around the Army amid the exceptional circumstances currently facing the country.
General Haykal then received Joseph Al Qsayfi, President of the Lebanese Press Editors’ Syndicate, with an accompanying delegation. The meeting addressed the general situation and latest developments, as well as the significant efforts being made by the military institution amid the current difficulties, particularly in the south, where attacks by the Israeli occupation forces continue. The importance of the Army’s role in preserving stability, national unity, and civil peace was emphasized.
The President of the Press Editors’ Syndicate and the members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the Army’s sacrifices and national role, stressing the need for solidarity with the military institution as the guarantor of Lebanon’s unity and security.
