Visitors of the Lebanese Army Commander – in – Chief

The Lebanese Army Commander –in-chief, General Rodolph Haykal, received in his office in Yarzeh the Finnish Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen, accompanied by the Finnish Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Meskanen, and a delegation. Discussions focused on the current situation and developments in Lebanon and the region, particularly in light of the critical period the country is undergoing.

The discussions also addressed the role of the Lebanese Army, particularly in the South, and the missions it carries out to maintain security and stability and confront growing challenges, as well as ways to strengthen its capabilities and provide support.

The talks also covered the role of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the importance of the missions it carries out in coordination with the Lebanese Army, and the post-UNIFIL phase.

During the meeting, General Haykal commended the role of the Finnish contingent serving with UNIFIL and expressed his appreciation for the sacrifices made by its personnel.
