Clarification Regarding Developments Related to the Newly Established Army Observation Post in Deir Mimas – Marjaayoun

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The Army Command wishes to clarify that, as part of the missions being carried out by military units in Deir Mimas – Marjaayoun, an Army patrol established a new temporary observation post on the outskirts of the town on September 10, 2026, in coordination with the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L), in order to accompany local residents while they inspected their agricultural lands.
On September 18, 2026, a force belonging to the Israeli occupation approached the newly established observation post within the so-called security zone and threw stun grenades in the vicinity of the area.
In response, the Army reinforced the observation post, resulting in a heightened state of alert between both sides.
Following communications conducted through the MCG4L, the Israeli occupation force withdrew from the area. The Army personnel subsequently returned to their main post in the town.
The situation is being followed up in coordination with the MCG4L.
