Arms Dealer Arrested by the Army Following an Exchange of Fire during an Arrest Operation

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

An Army unit arrested citizen (AA.Q.) in Al Safri – Baalbek. He was wanted for arms trafficking. During the arrest operation, members of the unit came under fire and returned fire, with no injuries reported.

Following the incident, another Army unit conducted raids in the area and arrested the Syrian (AA.F.) for his involvement in transporting weapons to another location. A quantity of weapons and ammunition, in addition to military equipment, was seized.

The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated with the two arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
