Visitors of the Army Commander-in-Chief

The Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal, received at his office in Yarzeh the Ambassador of the European Union, Sandra De Waele, accompanied by a delegation. The meeting focused on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as the post-UNIFIL phase. Ambassador De Waele reaffirmed the European Union’s continued support for the military institution and commended the Army’s role in safeguarding security and stability in Lebanon.

For his part, General Haykal expressed his appreciation for the European Union’s various initiatives in support of the Army, particularly during the current phase.

He then received Maronite Bishop of Jbeil Michel Aoun and his accompanying delegation. Bishop Aoun extended an invitation to General Haykal to attend a Mass marking the centenary of the beatification of the Masabki brothers, which will be held at St. Georges Cathedral in Aqoura.
