The Army foils an attempt to smuggle approximately 245 kg of highly explosive TNT and four explosive devices from Syrian territory into Lebanon

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On October 1, 2026, as a result of surveillance and monitoring operations along the northern and eastern borders, an Army unit seized approximately 245 kg of highly explosive TNT, four explosive devices, eight detonators, and electrical wires used for detonators, as they were being smuggled from Syrian territory into Lebanon.

The smugglers fled toward Syrian territory as soon as an Army patrol arrived at the location.

The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and follow-up and coordination efforts are underway to arrest those involved.
