Armed Clash in Tripoli: Shooters arrested by the Army; Army Continues Anti-Drug Operations, Pursuit of Security Offenders, and Border Control Efforts

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On October 5, 2026, an armed clash involving gunfire occurred in the Al Malloula – Tripoli. In response, Army units conducted raids in the area and arrested six Lebanese citizens involved in the shooting. A quantity of weapons and military ammunition was also seized. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved in the clash.

An Army unit also raided a room in Dar Al-Wasaa – Baalbek that was being used for drug manufacturing, seizing a large quantity of drugs as well as raw materials used in their production.

Another Army unit raided the resideces of wanted individuals in Hay Al Sellom – Southern Suburbs (Dahiyeh Janoubiyeh) and Qab Elias – Bekaa. Five Lebanese citizens and one Syrian were arrested for opening fire, and weapons, military ammunition, a quantity of drugs, and military equipment were seized.

Other Army units also arrested 51 Syrian nationals in the border area of Masharii Al Qaa – Hermel for illegally entering Lebanese territory.

The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and investigations with the arrestees were initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
