A military unit discovers an old, unfinished tunnel in Aaqoura - Jbeil

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On 20 October 2026, while a Lebanese Army unit was conducting training exercises within its area of responsibility, it discovered a tunnel in Aaqoura - Jbeil.
Following the discovery, a specialized military unit arrived at the site and inspected the tunnel. It was found to be incomplete, dating back a long time, and devoid of any equipment or contents.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the excavation of the tunnel.
