Order of the Day On the Ocasion of the Resistance and libaration Day

18 years have elapsed and the Resistance and Liberation Day remains a bright historic chapter that we celebrate with hearts filled with pride, as we revive the day when we triumphed over the Israeli enemy and encircled the borders with dignity and national sovereignty. It is an occasion where we commemorate the resistance and massive sacrifices offered by the nation’s martyrs and wounded, thus illuminating the path of glory, paved with their noble blood, and developing into examples in sacrifice and dedication so that Lebanon can be independent and free.

The times when the South was an open field for Israeli assaults have vanished. It is now a haven for safety and stability thanks to the will of the southerners and preparedness of the army to defend it. However, our enemy that continues to commit vicious massacres and crimes against the Palestinian people is persistent in plotting malign schemes with the aim of satisfying its greed in our land and waters. In this frame, we can confirm that we are firm in defending our rights, for a right is clear and unambiguous and not only a point of view that is subject to Israeli false allegations and claims. Therefore, be fully prepared to defend the dignity of your nation and Lebanese citizens, regardless of the dangers.

On this day, we commemorate the massive national accomplishments achieved by the Armed Forces through the years, thanks to your enthusiasm and loyalty in assuming responsibility. In the near past, you have efficiently contributed to providing protection to the elections and to the citizens practicing their democratic rights, thus becoming an example in impartiality. In parallel with our victory against the Israeli enemy comes the immense triumph you have achieved against terrorist organizations at the eastern borders, leading to their complete eradication and the elimination of their schemes that are no less dangerous than those of the Israeli enemy, all the while preserving our commitment to vigilance in pursuing dormant cells. Emanating from this fact, you have the right to be proud after gaining the confidence of the Lebanese of all affiliations and becoming the center of admiration of friend countries.

On this patriotic occasion, I vow to the Lebanese citizens that we will not rest until the last of our territories is liberated. I vow that we will preserve our nation as land, people and institutions. I am fully confident that you will spare no sacrifice with blood and sweat so that you earn the honor of this noble mission. Moreover, I extend my deepest salutations to the family members of the martyrs of the Lebanese Armed Forces and the nation. We vow to them and to all the Lebanese citizens that the Lebanese Armed Forces will remain a beacon for Honor, Sacrifice and Loyalty.
