Referral of an arrestee to the competent judicial authorities

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The Directorate of Intelligence referred the citizen (L.S.) to the competent judicial authorities after his arrest in Al-Sharawneh - Baalbek, due to the presence of several communications and arrest warrants against him for various crimes.

He is accused of attempting to kill soldiers and resisting the security services. He also formed with a group of people a gang of forgers, stealing residences and cars, and robbing people by force of arms, and he fired several times at army posts and patrols and towards people and residences on different dates, and he personally participated in a number of kidnappings of people in exchange for a financial ransom. He was also managing negotiations with the families of the kidnapped from a European country.

He left Lebanon in mid-2016 with forged identification documents belonging to his deceased brother and returned to Lebanon illegally during the current year, where he was arrested.
