1 individual killed and another injured while an intelligence patrol was seizing a vehicle

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On 06/10/2018, while an intelligence patrol was attempting to seize a Nissan vehicle in front of the Frères School in Furn el Chebbak, driven by Omar Tarek Serhan, accompanied by Mohammad Salim Jaafar who were trafficking narcotics. Serhan held a combat gun and tried to run over the members of the patrol who opened fire towards both individuals, leading to the death of Jaafar and the injury of Serhan. An amount of narcotics was seized inside the vehicle in addition to monetary amounts, a combat gun and belonging ammunition.
Investigation was carried out under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
