Aid provided by the State of Qatar to the Lebanese Army

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun expressed his thanks to His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, for his generosity towards the Lebanese Army, by announcing the donation of a financial contribution $60 million to support the Lebanese Army. General Aoun expressed his appreciation of this valuable initiative, which reflects the commitment of the State of Qatar towards Lebanon, its people and its army. He stressed that this assistance is dedicated to supporting soldiers. He pointed out that the State of Qatar has always been a pioneer in standing by Lebanon, especially its army, as it took the initiative about a year ago to send monthly food aid to the military institution in light of the economic crisis Lebanon is going through.
